e-Marefa Database, the most popular in the Arab World, launched its Databank for Islamic Economics and Finance from Manama, the capital of Bahrain during the “World Conference on Islamic Banking” in a move that will open a broader horizon for decision-makers and those concerned with Islamic economics and banking.
Dr Najeeb Al-Shorbaji, Vice-President of e-Marefa said at the launching event “the e-Marefa Databank for Islamic Economics and Finance represents a significant and qualitative move specifically in the areas of Islamic economics and banking and in the economics and financial areas in general.
Professor Al-Khazendar, the founder of the e-Marefa Arab Database, highlighted that “access to Islamic economics information has become an urgent necessity for all concerned whether they are policy-makers and decision-makers or researchers and academicians and that is what the e-Marefa Databank for Islamic Economics and Finance offers in modern and scientific manner”.
Dr Al-Shorbaji considered the launch of the e-Marefa Databank for Islamic Economics and Finance during the World Conference on Islamic Banking as a strategic move by the leaders of Islamic economics and finance sector and establishes for new approaches by decision-makers for policy-makers based on databases.
The Databank, as an interactive system for data analysis and financial comparisons, presents a large group of Islamic economics and financial institutions and includes tens of thousands of records and hundreds of institutions from 40 countries around the world.
Prof. Al-Khazendar believes that “the future of societies depends, categorically, on data analysis and knowledge production which has become-according to studies- the new currency which requires collective effort at the Arab regional and global levels to produce and exchange knowledge as the foundation for progress, development and innovation.
