This platform provides various types of full-text university textbooks in Arabic, which are needed by students in various academic disciplines. It also offers supplementary academic content such as academic articles, terminology databases, question banks, and more. This digital platform represents a unique model for research and knowledge management regarding Arabic university educational content.
Why the ‘e-Marefa’ database for Arabic textbooks
No doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a significant transformation in traditional education patterns in favor of e-learning and distance learning in Arab countries. It has made e-learning a priority to ensure the continuity of the education process. Hence, the need for digital platforms that meet the requirements of e-learning has emerged. However, Arab universities and the e-learning process have faced several fundamental problems, including the challenge of providing digital educational content, especially digital university course materials, and providing the required academic content to support it. To address this issue, the ‘e-Marefa’ database launched the ‘e-Marefa’ platform for Arabic digital university textbooks, to provide digital Arabic textbooks and the necessary course materials for Arab university students. This ensures the continuity of the university education process, regardless of the student’s location, time, or the exceptional circumstances they may be facing.
